A Pre -Employment Seminar for Local Applicants (PESLA) is typically a workshop or training session organized for individuals who are seeking employment opportunities within of specific locality or region. The seminar covers various topics aimed at preparing participants for the job search process and improving their employability.


Here's what I've learned during PESLA seminar:


Job search strategies where you explore different methods for finding job openings in the local area including online job boards, company websites, networking events, and other local employment agencies that we might know. 

Interview Preparation, gaining insignts into common interview questions, practicing interview techniques, and learning how to present ourselves profesionally to potential employers.

Networking skills, understanding the importance of networking in finding job opportunities within the local community and learning how to effectively network with professionals in our field.

Employment Rights and Responsibilities where understanding local labor laws, employee rights, and responsibilities in the workplace.

Skills Development, identifying areas for skills improvement and learning about training programs or resources available locally to enhance employability.

Self-Assessment: Understanding our strengths, weaknesses, interests and career goal to align with suitable job opportunities within the local area.

Prosessional Development Opportunities: Exploring local resources and programs for profestional development, such as workshops, seminars, certifications courses and apprenticeships.

Adapting to Local Workplace Culture, Understanding the norms, values, and expectations of the local workforce culture, including work hours, dress code, and communication styles.

Workplace Health and Safety: familiarizing oneself with local workplace heath and safety regulation, practices, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Resilience and Persistence: Cultivating resilience and persistence in the face of job search challenges and setbacks, maintaining a positive attitude , and staying motivated throughout the employment-seeking process.
